Residence Halls - Sproul Hall
UCLA’s on-campus housing is situated at the heart of university life and is just a short walk away from classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and sports facilities. UCLA’s highrise residence halls are coed, with separate restrooms and shower facilities for male and female students on each floor. Rooms in the residence halls will be shared by three students. This is a 7 story building with study rooms, meeting rooms, TV rooms and laundry facilities on each floor. The rooms are cleaned on a weekly basis. This cleaning entails light vacuuming, emptying of waste- baskets, a fresh linen pack, and cleaning of the shared bathroom. All common areas are cleaned on a daily basis. Coin-operated laundry machines are located on every floor of the Residence Halls.

In January 2009, the Hollywood movie ‘My Name is Khan’ was also filmed at UCLA.

Fifteen Nobel laureates are associated with UCLA: eight professors and seven alumni. Two other UCLA faculty members winning the Nobel Prize were Bertrand Russell and vice president Al Gore. Actors Ben Stiller, Nicholas Cage, James Dean, Steve Martin, Mark Harmon, Tim Robbins, James Franco, George Takei, Mayim Bialik, Sean Astin, Holland Roden and Milo Ventimiglia are also UCLA attend- ee or alumni. Popular music artists Sara Bareilles, The Doors, Linkin Park and Maroon 5 all attended UCLA. Giada De Laurentiis is a program host at Food Network and former chef at Spago.
